This is a fantastic place to stay. We should know, we lived here while the rest of the house was completed.

A  "get away from it all place" with peace and tranquility here at Playa Hermosa - the only sounds you are likely to hear, are that of the ocean, the noise of the local birds and the monkeys playing in the trees. We have the most beautiful sunsets here and the sunrises as well if you are up early enough!  The early mornings are the best time for hearing and seeing the monkeys, we see them most mornings when we are out on our walks.  Playa Hermosa is a very quiet and tranquil area.  Swimming in the sea is very safe due to it being in a cove and protected. This is our home and we live here all the time, I do not think we could find a more beautiful place to live and it would be our pleasure if you were to come here as our guests and totally unwind and relax or do whatever you want to do in our tropical tranquil paradise location.

You can drive round, probably need a 4w drive. He can also pick you up by boat and bring you back again. He will also take you on his boat to go snorkeling. If you would like to go horse ridding this can be arranged also.

ACTIVITES
Boca Chica is a very famous area for both shore and deep sea fishing. Fishing trips and island hopping can be arranged here.  Snorkeling or go to a deserted island for the day. There are numerous tropical islands to see which include, Coiba island national parks & The Secas.The local fisherman always know the best places to go for whatever you decide you want to do. 

Chiriqui  is in the far western region of Panama having a border with Costa Rica that stretches from the Caribbean sea down to the Pacific Ocean. The Gulf Of Chiriqui provides a stunning prelude to the Pacific Ocean in which many small and uninhabited islands are. The waters in this region are full of wildlife and opportunities for BOATING and AND FINDING THOSE DESERTED ISLAND BEACHES.

NATURE WATCHING of DOLPHIN, PORPOISE, WHALES, AND SEA TURTLES to name but a few.

HORSERIDING  - this can be arranged. 

BIRDWATCHING -   You cannot find a better place in the world to do this then here in Panama. Just by sitting on your terrace you see a huge amount of different beautiful birds and you have in your apartment " A GUIDE TO THE BIRDS OF PANAMA"  (together with other Panama reference books) so you can straight away find the picture, name and all the details on the different birds.  We have had past guests who have said they were looking through the book at some beautifull bird and looked up and there it was! 

SURFING there is a beach about an hours drive from your apartment. It is a long flat beach with gentle waves.  Here you are able to hire boogie boards and there are plenty of  restaurants and drinking bars around.

LOOKING FOR A PROPERTY -  This is a perfect place as a base to look around the beautiful surrounding area where there is lots of potential.  There are local estate agents who we could arrange with them to show you around the different places and give you first hand advice.  Also we have lots of tips and valuable information that we can give you ourselves from our personal experience, especially if you want to build a house here. This would be an ideal place to rent if you are thinking of relocating to Panama - try it out before you move. 

DAVID is the 3rd largest city in Panama. It is situated 50 minuites away from our property on a very good road. Here you will find a large assortment of different shops,stalls and markets of all kinds.  Some of the large shops here include Conways (this has just opened here this December) and Pricesmart.  Rey, Romero and 99 Shops are other large supermarkets that are open 24 hours.  There are numerous restaurants of all types and Casinos.
There are 2 large modern hospitials with all the latest equipment.

Climate

Panama has a warm, wet, tropical climate. Unlike countries that are farther from the equator, Panama does not experience seasons marked by changes in temperature. Instead, Panama's seasons are divided into Wet and Dry.  

The Dry Season generally begins around mid-December, but this may vary by as much 3 to 4 weeks. Around this time, strong northeasterly winds known as “trade winds” begin to blow and little or no rain may fall for many weeks in a row. Daytime air temperatures increase slightly to around 30-31ºC (86-88ºF), but nighttime temperatures remain around 22-23ºC (72-73ºF). Relative humidity drops throughout the season, reaching average values as low as 70%.  

During the Rainy Season it is typically sunny in the mornings and the clouds start to build up in the afternoon and then you can have intermittent showers. With the arrival of the rain temperatures cool down a little during the day.  We love this time of the year as you can go out walking at 2pm without being too hot as it would be in the dry season. The rain especially on the Pacific coast occurs usually late in the afternoon.  In Playa Hermosa we are very lucky as usually we get our showers much later in the day than any other area because we are on the Pacific coast.
We built our house in a year and in the “Wet Season” we only had a few afternoons that were lost in building time and very rare if at all for the whole day to be lost.   If you ask anyone when are the wettest months everyone will give you a different answer.  We found it to be October one year and November the next.

In Playa Hermosa we found that in the wet season the rain came mostly in the late afternoon allowing for a full day’s activities.
